Hydroxyapatite represents approximately 97% of enamel composition and 70% of the dentin. The depositing of synthetic nanoparticle hydroxyapatite, fills the dentinal tubules and repairs compromised sections of enamel, which allows for improved protection of the inner layers of tooth.
The synthetic nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp) that is used in NHpro was selected due to its superior remineralising effects. Unlike other forms of synthetic hydroxyapatite, this form mimics the size of natural dentinal/enamel apatite to fill the deficit areas more consistently and effectively than any other kind. This unique form of nHAp not only allows for more efficient remineralisation, but is also more effective due to its greater surface area of effect.
